Telegram Business is one account, not several inboxes
Short answer: Telegram Business dresses up one account so it can act like a small shop: opening hours, a greeting, an away note, quick replies, and a bot that can answer on your behalf. It does not put several Telegram logins into one inbox. If the work is one storefront, use Business. If the work is answering several accounts, you still need the official account switcher or a desktop inbox. TGDesk is the second kind of tool. It is coming soon, paid, and not downloadable.
What Telegram actually ships
Telegram announced Business on 31 March 2024. The current description lives in core.telegram.org/api/business. You open it from Settings → Telegram Business. As of October 2026 the API text says the Business features are free for Premium subscribers, and that connected bots are also available to people who do not subscribe to Premium.
On that one account you can set:
- Hours and location, plus a start page for the account.
- Quick replies in private chats, from the
/panel. Shortcut messages can be sent into a private chat. This page does not quote an unofficial cap on how many shortcuts you can save. - A greeting for the first time someone messages you, with a period after which it may be sent again.
- An away message while you are outside business hours or on vacation. Specific chats can be excluded.
- Chat links that count how many people started a chat from the link.
- Colored tags on chats.
- A connected bot that can reply on your behalf and, if you grant it, read and send as that account.
Premium is still per account. A second shop account needs its own Premium if you want the Business feature set on that account too. The three-account switcher in official apps is unchanged: three accounts, and Premium adds another slot. Details are in the account-limit guide.
What Business does not do
- It does not sign in a second phone number for you.
- It does not show account A and account B in one list. You still switch accounts in Telegram, or you open another window.
- A connected bot is not a teammate with their own login. It speaks as the account it is connected to, which is a different trust decision: you are letting software send as you.
- It is not a license for bulk messaging. Telegram still limits spam the same way. Business shortcuts are for replies you would have typed in a private chat.

Which one to use
Stay on Telegram Business when you have one customer-facing account: you want a greeting at night, an away note on Sunday, and a handful of replies you paste with /. A connected bot is optional and worth reading twice, because it can act as the account.
Stay on the official apps when you have two or three accounts and you can live with the switcher. Setup is in how to use multiple Telegram accounts on PC. Business can be turned on for each of those accounts separately. It still will not merge them.
Look at a desktop inbox when the pain is the merge, not the greeting. TGDesk is an independent app, not affiliated with Telegram. Each account stays its own session, stored encrypted on the computer, and existing Telegram Desktop folders can be read without writing back to them. It does not invent a business-hours screen, a greeting, or quick replies. It also does not send bulk messages or collect members from groups.
There is no installer on this site. In-chat translation, speech-to-text, and OCR are on the plan and are not something you can turn on in a public build today. The closer comparison with the official desktop app is Telegram Desktop vs TGDesk.
Bottom line
Telegram Business is the official storefront for one Premium account. A multi-account inbox is for people who already have several logins and need one list. They solve different problems, and buying Premium on one account does not build the second product. TGDesk is only the inbox, it is paid, and it is not available to download yet.
FAQ
Does Telegram Business let me run several accounts in one inbox?
No. Business tools attach to one account: hours, location, a start page, quick replies, a greeting, an away message, chat links, colored tags, and a connected bot. Another login is still another account.
Who can turn on Telegram Business?
Open Settings, then Telegram Business. The Business API says the Business features are free for Premium subscribers. Connected bots are also available to users who do not have Premium.
Do quick replies work in groups?
Telegram's Business API describes quick replies for private chats, opened from the slash panel. This page does not claim they work in groups.
Does TGDesk include business hours or a greeting message?
No. TGDesk does not add hours, greetings, away messages, or quick replies. It is an independent desktop inbox for several accounts, coming soon, with no public download. In-chat translation, speech-to-text, and OCR are planned.
